Manchester City sound out Real Madrid’s Isco

Manchester City are planning a sensational move for Real Madrid playmaker Isco, according to a report in Diario AS.

The Spain international has a long-term deal at the Bernabeu until 2022 with a minimum release clause of €700m, although this may be able to be negotiated down.

City – who are said to have sounded the player's availability out via an intermediary – were one of the clubs interested in signing Isco in 2013 from Malaga before he eventually joined Madrid but he has fallen out of favour under new boss Santiago Solari.

The 26-year-old has only started one match across La Liga and the Champions League under the Argentine boss – last week’s harrowing 3-0 home defeat against CSKA Moscow.

The report outlines how Isco is open to the city of playing under City boss Pep Guardiola and the possibility of Eden Hazard moving to Madrid next summer would isolate him at Madrid even more so.
