Spanish clubs dominate European rankings

Spanish clubs continue to dominate the European club rankings index with three of the top four and four in the continent’s top six.

Real Madrid still lead the way after three successive Champions League titles while Barcelona are ranked third and Atletico Madrid are one place further back.

Sevilla, who have won five Europa League titles since 2006 and three of the past five editions, lie sixth in the rankings with Bayern Munich in second and Juventus sitting fifth.

The next Spanish clubs are some way down the rankings with Villarreal (27th) and Athletic Club Bilbao (35th), before Valencia – who have dropped to 60th.

The other three clubs who are ranked are Real Betis, Real Sociedad and Celta de Vigo, who are 73rd, 74th and 75th respectively.
