Theo Hernandez insists he still feels ‘very fond’ of Atletico Madrid despite his controversial move to Real Madrid.
The full-back is currently on loan at Real Sociedad but is adamant he wants to spend the remainder of his career at Los Blancos.
“I feel very fond of Atleti,” Theo insisted in an interview for Air Europa magazine, as cited by Marca.
“But now I am in an exciting new chapter in my life, I want to stay at Real Madrid forever in my career and I am very happy.
“I want to explain that I loved my time at Atleti but the best move for my future was to join Madrid.”
In the same feature, brother Lucas – still at Atletico – added: “Theo knew the move would spark criticism, it was inevitable, but time will heal those divisions.
“I was very happy for him to win the Champions League, I was very lucky to play in a final, but we lost. Hopefully I can win the tournament here.”
