Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo has called on Barcelona star Lionel Messi to ‘accept the challenge and join me in Italy’.
The Portuguese international joined the Bianconeri in a €100m deal from Real Madrid this summer and is excelling at his new club in Turin.
“I would like Messi to come to Italy someday and like me, I hope he accepts the challenge,” Ronaldo told La Gazzetta Dello Sport, as cited by Diario Sport.
“Do I miss Messi? I have played in England, in Spain, in Italy, in Portugal, I’ve won with my teams and he is still playing in Spain, maybe he needs me more?
“I see life as being a challenge, I want to make people happy and I would like for Messi to come to Italy one day.
“I respect him, he is an incredible player and a really good guy, this is my new life and I’m very happy.”
