Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets admitted facing Atletico Madrid ‘isn’t fun’ but accepted ‘the draw was fair’.
Atleti’s plan of stifling Barca and suckerpunching them almost came off when Diego Costa scored with the game’s first attempt on target in the 77th minute, but Busquets’ side equalised late on through Ousmane Dembele.
“It’s difficult to play Atletico, but that’s how they approach matches,” he said after the 1-1 draw on Saturday.
“We expected it but not so exaggerated. It’s not fun or what we wanted, but it’s their style and we have to respect it.
“We tried but it wasn’t to be. We were more dominant and had control of the game, whereas they had practically no chances.
“They scored against us from a corner, but it would’ve been unfair if we lost. The draw was fair.”
