Paco Alcacer delighted to sign permanent deal with ‘wonderful’ Borussia Dortmund

Paco Alcacer believes he made ‘the right decision’ to leave Barcelona after the ‘wonderful’ Borussia Dortmund activated their €23m option to sign the striker.

Alcacer’s run of nine goals from eight appearances, at a rate of one every 44 minutes, prompted Dortmund to purchase the Spaniard, who will put pen to paper on a four-year contract at the end of the season.

“I’m very happy in Dortmund, at BVB and in this wonderful team,” he told the club’s official website.

“Joining Borussia Dortmund was and remains the right decision for me. I’ll do everything I can to show my gratitude for their faith in me.”

The 25-year-old moved to Barca from Valencia in the summer of 2016 for €30m but started just 14 times in La Liga, failing to displace Luis Suarez as their No 9.

Despite recently ending a two-year exile from the Spain squad, he finishes his spell at Camp Nou with 15 goals from 50 appearances.
