Betis vice-president: Dani Ceballos telling lies

Real Betis vice-president José Miguel López Catalán has accused Dani Ceballos of ‘telling stories that are removed from reality.’

Last week, the Real Madrid midfielder claimed his exit from the Seville-based club was the fault of Betis, who stalled on a new deal and telling mistruths about him to their fans.

“His words annoyed me a lot, because they are not true,” López Catalán is cited as saying by El Mundo Deportivo.

“Dani is telling a story that is far from the reality, and yes Betis may have erred by not signing a deal many months earlier but the player stalled for months.

“From my point of view it was clear that he was thinking only of himself and not about Betis, and ultimately it led to an exit that was not pleasant for anyone.”

The 22-year-old made just four La Liga starts across last season with Los Blancos but has already equaled that this time around as he is afforded greater prominence.
