Arsenal ‘eye deal’ for Villarreal’s Pablo Fornals

Arsenal have earmarked the signing of Villarreal midfielder Pablo Fornals to replace the outgoing Aaron Ramsey, according to reports.

Earlier this month, Cadena Ser stated the Spaniard rejected offers from Fulham and West Ham because does not want to ‘abandon his team in the situation in which it is currently’.

The Yellow Submarine sit just one point above the relegation zone in La Liga despite the 22-year-old proving influential in helping them to a top five finish last season.

The Sun say Arsenal see the €20m release clause of Fornals as offering the perfect opportunity for replacing Ramsey, who is set to leave the North London club on a free transfer next summer.

However, previous reports in Spain have stated the former Malaga midfielder has a €30m release clause at El Madrigal with Villarreal hopeful of renewing his contract to boost this fee.
