Ivan Rakitic set for ‘longest Barcelona absence’

Ivan Rakitic is set for his longest absence from Barcelona first-team action since joining the club in 2014 from Sevilla, it has been confirmed.

The Croatian is set to miss up to three weeks of action after suffering a hamstring injury on international duty and is set to miss upcoming games against PSV and Villarreal, while he was already banned for the trip to Atletico Madrid.

El Mundo Deportivo report how the 30-year-old has only missed a total of three games through injury in just over four years at the club.

Two of those came at the end of last season due to suffering a broken finger, allowing Rakitic to notch up a total of 231 appearances for the Catalan giants.
