Marca: Barcelona ‘not ruling out’ Neymar’s return

Marca is reporting that Barcelona are considering a sensational deal to bring back Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar.

The newspaper writes how Neymar ‘only smiled and didn’t say a word’ when he was asked about possibly returning to Barca after Brazil’s 2-0 win against Uruguay on Friday.

Furthermore, the Blaugrana ‘no longer reject this idea’ as general manager Pep Segura did not totally close the door on the Brazilian in a recent interview.

Despite being a Real Madrid-centric publication, Marca concedes the 26-year ‘wants’ to make Camp Nou his home again and the Catalans are ‘counting on this desire’.

A previous poll suggested the majority of Barca fans did not want Neymar back, but it would be ‘nothing that can’t be fixed with a good, image-cleaning campaign’.

Marca also claims his father has proposed the forward’s return, even though both he and Barca seemed to burn their bridges over a contractual dispute related to PSG paying his €222m release clause last summer.

However, the publication notes his son remains Florentino Perez’s ‘great obsession’ and that Madrid were similarly offered the player by his dad.

Los Blancos would also have ‘the money in the back’ from selling Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus, but Marca concludes the Catalans could finance a deal themselves by shifting Ousmane Dembele.

Nonetheless, PSG are described as ‘specialists in refusing to sell, especially if you don’t do things their way’, despite talk of a ‘verbal agreement’ if a bid in the region of €222m arrives.
