Barcelona’s Clement Lenglet reveals Juventus approach

Barcelona defender Clement Lenglet has revealed how Juventus tried to sign him when he was in second tier of French football with Nancy.

The French international subsequently helped his former club to promotion to Ligue 1 before earning a move to Sevilla in January 2017 before moving to the Catalan giants this summer.

“I was at Nancy and I’d only played three months in the French second division when Juventus came in to sign me,” Lenglet told Goal.com.

“However I was 18 and I only had a few months of professional football behind me. With the defence that Juventus had back then, I wouldn’t have played or progressed,

“It wasn’t a good time to leave my club. I’m very happy with the decision I made because I joined a very big club anyway.”
