Real Madrid consider Leonardo Jardim as new Coach

Real Madrid are considering appointing former Monaco boss Leonardo Jardim as their new Coach, report ESPN FC.

The Portuguese boss was dismissed from the French club earlier this month for a poor start to the season although it was widely acknowledged this was down to player sales.

Madrid appointed Santiago Solari as interim Coach on 29 October to replace the dismissed Julen Lopetegui but must make a permanent appointment within two weeks of that date.

Solari has won both games at the helm, a 4-0 Copa del Rey victory at third tier Melilla alongside Saturday’s 2-0 La Liga victory at home to Real Valladolid.

Such results give way to the idea that the Argentine may be appointed on a permanent basis until the end of the season but this fresh reports hints Jardim is strongly in the frame.

Venezuelan-born Jardim has previously managed Braga, Olympiakos and Sporting CP before taking over at Monaco in 2014, where he spent four years including reaching the 2016 Champions League semi-finals.
