Stefan Savic admits the Champions League final being at the Wanda Metropolitano is a ‘motivation’ for Atletico Madrid.
The stadium in Spain’s capital only opened last season and will host this season’s showpiece in Europe’s premier club competition.
“It is a motivation for us, maybe more than it normally is,” Savic said, as cited by Marca.
“It is fantastic for the city, for the club to be hosting such a match, and we hope to be able to play in this game once more – it is the same for all the elite European games.
“But we do not get ahead of ourselves, we go game by game, we do not look ahead of the next game and we remain fully focused.
“Our playing style? A lot of teams talk about good or bad football, but the only football we are concerned about is winning football.
“There are lots of different styles in football but the only one that we can agree is correct is the one that wins matches.
“Ballon d’Or? Antoine Griezmann deserves it, for what he has done for us in the Europa League and Super then how he performed in the World Cup with France.”
