Sergio Ramos ‘proud’ to be whistled by Real Madrid fans

Sergio Ramos is ‘proud fans show their anger at me’ after the Real Madrid captain was whistled by the club’s fans.

The central defender was the target of vitriol from the home support during Saturday’s 2-0 home victory over Real Valladolid, in which he netted from the spot.

“I did not really notice the issues, but as players here we need to accept them,” Ramos told BeIn Sports.

“I’m the captain of this team and I am the one who needs to front up, the truth is that I am proud fans show their anger at me.

“I understand how the fans feel, all the players do and ultimately it is us who are the ones responsible for the situation and us who can reverse it.

“Once we scored, it seemed that things had normalised and fans gave us the encouragement to push on for the victory.

“It does not matter who the Coach is, we will always be with him until death, and we hope Solari can help us at this difficult moment.”
