Diego Costa is ‘jealous’ of the wages of Atletico Madrid strike partner Antoine Griezmann and wants a contract renewal, say reports in Spain.
The Spain international rejoined Los Rojiblancos last season and is said to earn €8m annual in wages – one of the highest packages at the club.
However, Griezmann penned a new long-term deal at the Wanda Metropolitano over summer with his bumper new wage packet said to stand at €20m annually.
The former Chelsea striker has not scored in La Liga since February and whilst his relationship with strike partner Griezmann is said to be strong, he is disillusioned with his current situation.
A number of Spanish media cite the issue and follow on from a report earlier this month in El Mundo that should he not secure a wage increase, Costa would consider a move to China.
