Jesus Navas dreams of Spain return

Sevilla winger Jesus Navas admitted he was a little disappointed not to be called up for the Spanish national team but he will ‘continue working’.

The 32-year-old has won 35 caps for La Roja but has not featured for the national team since 2014, but his much-improved form at club level have led to renewed hopes.

“The truth is that I was very excited,” Navas admitted when speaking of finding out Spain would be playing in Seville against England.

“What I experienced and achieved with the Spanish national team was great and I will continue working and trying to do well to be in the frame.

“It is the highest honour to play with the national team and being able to represent Spain is very important for any football player from here, I will keep trying.

“Luis Enrique? He has managed good results. I am confident the team will continue to succeed under him.”
