Real Madrid targeting Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen

Real Madrid have made Tottenham Hotspur playmaker Christian Eriksen their number one transfer target, report Cadena Cope.

The report states officials at the European champions see the Denmark playmaker as a long-term replacement for Luka Modric, whom they also signed from Spurs.

Cope say that whilst Eden Hazard of Chelsea is continually flirting with Madrid, the club see Eriksen as a more realistic target who would be more befitting of their style of play.

Madrid president Florentino Perez is said to be extremely keen to land Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain but there is a recognition such a move is fraught with complications.

Eriksen joined Spurs from Dutch club Ajax in the summer of 2013 and has scored 57 goals in 232 appearances since, while winning 83 caps for Denmark.
