Real Madrid’s Isco aims for El Clasico return

Real Madrid playmaker Isco is recovering from his acute appendicitis and is aiming to return for this month’s El Clasico.

The former Malaga star has missed his side’s three most recent matches – a 3-0 loss at Sevilla, a 0-0 draw with Atletico Madrid and a 1-0 defeat at CSKA Moscow.

“I had my stiches removed today, and can’t wait to get back playing,” Isco wrote on his Instagram account, accompanied with a photo of him in action for Madrid.

Diario AS say the 26-year-old will definitely sit out the forthcoming matches against Alaves, Levante and Viktoria Plzen, while he has not been included in the latest Spain squad.

The operation took place at Madrid's Sanitas-La Moraleja clinic while he is now aiming to return for the clash against Barcelona on 28 October.
