Valencia Coach Marcelino Garcia Toral feels unfairly targeted

Valencia Coach Marcelino Garcia Toral believes he is being unfairly treated by authorities after being handed a two-game touchline ban.

He will now be unavailable from the dugout for the upcoming matches against Celta Vigo and Real Sociedad, with Marcelino confessing he feels targeted.

“Not being there on the touchline hurts me, but I must accept it,” Marcelino is cited as saying by Marca.

“In two consecutive seasons I have been the first Coach to be sent off in the league and yes, I do think it is the case that I am being targeted.

“I have never once in my career insulted any official and there needs to be a serious reason to send off a Coach, but I do not know what I have done wrong and have not been informed.

“Now we need the support of the fans more than ever, because there are very tough matches and we need points, even though it is early in the season.

“We have the players well prepared and their application has been excellent and we want to now start winning games.”
