La Liga Preview: Real Valladolid-Alaves

Brazil and La Liga legend Ronaldo watches Real Valladolid for the first time as their owner this Sunday, with Alaves the visitors at Jose Zorrilla.

Valladolid boss Sergio Gonzalez on the budget disparity in La Liga: “It’s always good to bathe in reality.

“We all want to have a bigger budget, but we know where we are and which scenario we find ourselves in. We’ll compete with every possible guarantee.

“It’s been an intense week, which we’ve worked very well in. We’ve recharged our batteries. This break is always a good one to have.”

Alaves boss Abelardo Fernandez on the task facing his side: “It’s difficult to score a goal at Valladolid.

“They’re a team who have shown solidity and given three good performances for a newly-promoted side.

“Having said that, they’re also a direct rival of ours so it’s important that we pick up points against them.”
