Preview: Alaves-Espanyol

Espanyol will look to make it 10 away wins in 11 when they travel to Alaves, who are still without a victory in La Liga this season.

Alaves boss Abelardo Fernandez on how his side are performing: “I’d be surprised if Alaves were now at 100 percent.

“Still, I think we competed well in both matches against Barcelona and Betis and we’ve also trained well this week.

“I think we can win on Sunday at Mendizorroza.”

Espanyol boss Rubi on what his team are capable of:“I believe we can beat anyone and play well.

“I’ve told the players that we’re going into our games to win them. We’ve signed [Roberto] Rosales. I’m very happy as he adds value to the squad.

“Obviously I’d have liked someone else to come in, but it wasn’t to be. Still, I’m not disappointed.

“We have five new players, three of them home-grown and two of them signings, two great goalkeepers, plus David [Lopez] stayed.

“I’d have liked to bring in more players, but it’s not an excuse.”
