Roma midfielder Maxime Gonalons has arrived in Seville ahead of undergoing a medical with Sevilla, the club have confirmed.
The deal is a season-long loan arrangement with no option to buy, with the central midfielder essentially replacing Steven N’Zonzi – who joined Roma in a €32m deal last week.
Gonalons, 29, only joined the Italian club last summer from Olympique Lyonnais but has made just 23 appearances, failing to establish himself as a first-team regular.
The French midfielder was signed by Roma for €5m but they were happy to sanction his loan exit without a fee with his wages being covered by the Andalusian club.
