Valencia have completed the season-long loan signing of midfielder Denis Cheryshev from La Liga rivals Villarreal, it has been confirmed.
The 27-year-old scored three goals in eight appearances at the Mestalla in a temporary loan stint in the 2015-16 campaign and also played under Marcelino Garcia Toral at the Yellow Submarine.
The Russian international made over 100 appearances for Real Madrid’s B team before a series of loan deals including at Sevilla and Villarreal, whom he joined permanently in 2016.
Cheryshev impressed for Russia during this summer’s World Cup, helping the host nation reach the quarter-final stage and eliminate Spain in the Round of 16.
