Roma renew Oyarzabal interest

Roma have renewed their interest in Real Sociedad winger Mikel Oyarzabal after being snubbed by Malcom in favour of Barcelona.

The Italian giants enquired about the 21-year-old some weeks ago, only for their interest to cool when the deal for Malcom was understood to be wrapped up.

However, with that falling through after Roma had earmarked around €40m for the Brazilian, they have now turned their eyes to Oyarzabal once more, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Even so, La Real are in no mood to let the Spain international depart Anoeta and have no intention of listening to offers or negotiating his exit, although the player does have a €50m buy-out clause in his contract.

Another complication is that Oyarzabal does not want to move away from the Basque Country at this stage of his career, given that he has just inherited the No 10 jersey from Xabi Prieto.

In addition, he also has a verbal agreement with the club that when the summer transfer market closes there will be talks over a contract extension, which will be accompanied by an increase in his rescission clause.
