Guaita: Palace move a dream

New Crystal Palace goalkeeper Vicente Guaita has described his move to England from Getafe as ‘a dream come true’.

The 31-year-old joined the Eagles on a three-year deal this month after his contract at Los Azulones expired.

The Spaniard made over 100 appearances for Valencia before joining Getafe in 2014, keeping 12 clean sheets last season as the side finished eighth in their first season back in La Liga.

“I'm very happy for the new experience. I think every player wants to play at the top level and the Premier League is one of the best in the world,” Guaita told www.eagles.cpfc.co.uk.

“And I'm happy to be a part of it this year and for a few more and be able to defend Crystal Palace's shirt.

“The Spanish league is a great league. I've been a part of it for many years now and perhaps for me it's quite normal, a good one for us of course, but for me the Premier League is also one of the best.

“It's always said that English football is better than all other, and I'm really looking forward to it.

“One of the reasons of coming here is to be able to play against great English teams and enjoy the Premier League.

“In the past years I have had some opportunities to sign for teams in the Premier League, but in the end due to some circumstances I couldn't come here, and this year they [Palace] contacted my agent, and finally that dream has come true.”
