Villarreal will break their transfer record to bring Espanyol striker Gerard Moreno back to the club, with a deal expected imminently.
The 26-year-old left the Yellow Submarine in 2015 to join the Catalan club for a €1.5m fee although 50% of his rights have remained in Villarreal’s hands.
Marca report a deal has been struck between the clubs in a €20m deal, which would be fractionally more than the €18m spent on Karl Toko Ekambi from Angers last week.
Moreno was vital at the RCDE Stadium last season, netting 16 of the club’s 36 La Liga goals – just over 36% of the goal output.
