Spanish clubs dominate UEFA rankings

Spanish clubs dominate UEFA’s list of ‘Top Clubs’ rankings, occupying both of the top two spots and four of the top six.

Real Madrid – who have won of the last five Champions League titles – head the list, which is compiled based on club’s results in European competitions over the past five seasons.

Europa League holders Atletico Madrid – who have also featured in two Champions League finals in that timeframe – are placed second in the rankings, with German champions Bayern Munich third.

Barcelona – who won the Champions League in 2015 – lie fourth in the standings with Sevilla – three Europa League titles since 2014 – two places further back in sixth.

Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City, Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund complete the top 10, with Villarreal (32nd), Athletic Bilbao (34th) and Valencia (41st) also in the top 50.
