Layun wants Sevilla stay

On-loan Sevilla defender Miguel Layun says he would like to make his current deal permanent this summer.

The Mexican international has been on loan from Porto since January at the Sanchez Pizjuan, having made only two starts for the Portuguese giants in the first half of the season, and is anxious for the Andalusians to make a decision on his future.

“My aim is to continue here and hopefully sign a contract for many more years, although I’m also aware that this a time when I will need to wait for the management,” the 29-year-old told Deportes Cope Sevilla.

“I have let the club know directly, and also through my agent, that I’d like to stay. They know that’s my choice and what I have in mind.

“I’m very happy and I’ve found it really enjoyable, my family too, and at a professional level I’m proud to belong to Sevilla.”

Layun spent 12 months in England with Watford before moving to Porto in 2016, having previously spent a loan spell with the Primeira Liga side.
