Depor to decide on Rolan

Deportivo la Coruna will make a decision in the summer on whether striker Diego Rolan will be joining them this summer.

The Galicians reached an agreement with Ligue 1 side Bordeaux for the player to arrive at Riazor in time for the 2018-19 campaign, but the club’s relegation this term appears to have left matters up in the air with reports in France suggesting the contract may be invalid.

The Uruguayan has been on loan at Malaga since the start of the season, with the already-relegated Andalusians having no option to buy, and Depor President Tino Fernandez explained that they will consider their options.

“We have a contract and we’ll analyse it calmly with him and his agent, where we will see what the best solution for the future is,” he told reporters.

“We do have a relationship, but I don’t know what will happen next year, so certain considerations will need to be taken into account.

“If we were in La Primera there would be no doubt as he is a very good player, so we will have a look at what happens now we are in La Segunda. But the contract is not invalid in case of relegation.”
