Joaquin urges Betis ‘to watch the sun rise’

Real Betis captain Joaquin urged his teammates ‘to watch the sun rise’ after celebrating the side’s qualification for European football.

After the January victory at Sevilla, the 36-year-old urged his teammates to stay out celebrating until at least 5am, and he has now given advice on how to enjoy the qualification for next season’s Europa League.

“If after the day of the Derby I said you had to stay out until 5am, today you can see the sun rise wherever you want,” Joaquin told reporters, as cited by Cadena Cope.

“I have not cried with this achievement, unlike our Coach! He has frequently said that it is hard, from the outside, to understand how we live and breathe football to this extent here (in the city of Seville).

“This has been a very good season for us, it has gone in the circle we want as we have improved greatly in the second half.

“My next singing video? I will be in a thong!”
