American bid for Sergio Leon

A MLS club has submitted an €8m offer for Real Betis striker Sergio Leon but the player has no plans to move, say reports in the Spanish press.

The 29-year-old returned to his boyhood club last summer in a €3.5m deal from Osasuna and he has netted 13 goals this season for the Seville-based club, who sit fifth in La Liga.

Canal Sur report an American club has lodged the attractive offer to Los Verdiblancos but neither the player nor the club has any interest in the proposal.

Alex Alegria and Ruben Castro are both set to leave the club this summer while Antonio Sanabria has attracted interest within Spain.

Estadio Deportivo believe Leon and Loren Moron are the only two strikers certain to be in Betis’s first-team squad next season.
