Heynckes: Bayern won’t sell Lewandowski

Bayern Munich are not countenancing the sale of Robert Lewandowski this summer and his exit is ‘the imagination of papers’, states Coach Jupp Heynckes.

The Polish striker has been linked with a summer move to Real Madrid, whom he faced with the German champions in the Champions League semi-final first leg on Wednesday.

“This is a question that neither club has posed to themselves, it is merely the imagination of papers,” Heynckes told reporters when he was quizzed about a potential swap deal between the striker and Cristiano Ronaldo.

“You have statistics and it’s in the mind of the journalists, but the clubs are not talking about that – Bayern Munich are very happy with Robert Lewandowski.

“He performed well at Borussia Dortmund and he has replicated that form since his move to here, at Bayern – he scores a lot of goals and plays very positively.

“He gives everything for the team and always tries to stay fit, so I do not wish to discuss his future.”
