Barca ‘hold meeting’ with Sevilla’s Lenglet

Barcelona have held a meeting with the representatives of Sevilla defender Clement Lenglet, according to reports in the Spanish press.

The 22-year-old central defender has impressed for Los Rojiblancos in a turbulent season for the club and will line-up against Barca in Saturday’s Copa del Rey showdown.

Diario Sport report a meeting has taken place between the two parties while El Mundo Deportivo cite the defender’s release clause as €35m – while previous reports range between €30m-45m.

Lenglet was the penultimate arrival at the Andalusian club under sporting director Monchi, signing from Ligue 1 outfit Nancy in January 2017.

The Blaugrana are keen for a deal due to the anticipated departure of Thomas Vermaelen, while Yerry Mina may be loaned out.

There has also been speculation over Samuel Umtiti’s future at the Camp Nou, although it is unclear if the interest in Lenglet is linked to his fellow countryman’s situation.
