Real Betis defender Rafa Navarro is set to join Sporting Gijon this summer regardless of what division they are in, say reports in Spain.
The 24-year-old has a contract with Los Verdiblancos until 2020 which was signed under sporting director Miguel Torrecilla, who is now at the Asturian club.
Sporting currently lead Spain’s second tier after suffering relegation last season but a report in Sevilla Info, citing El Comercio, states a principle agreement for the full-back is in place.
Navarro has featured just twice in La Liga this season for the Seville-based club after falling behind Antonio Barragan and youth product Francis Guerrero in the pecking order.
