Emery open to ‘future La Real return’

Paris Saint-Germain Coach Unai Emery has admitted he would love to take charge of his former club Real Sociedad in the future.

The 46-year-old spent six years at the Basque club in his early playing career before going on to have a successful management career at Almeria, Valencia, Sevilla and currently, in Paris.

La Real are currently seeking a permanent managerial appointment in the summer after Eusebio Sacristan’s dismissal last month and Emery is under pressure at PSG due to lack of European success.

“I have always liked La Real, whether that is right now or in the future," Emery is cited as saying by Marca.

“Real Sociedad have always had an important place in my heart; it is where I spent ten years and it is where I grew up.

“I do not know if one day I will return to the club in a professional capacity but it is my intention to do so at some point in the future.

“Right now at PSG we are growing from patience and through solidity, we have the ambition of getting stronger every year and translating our success in France to Europe.”
