Guidetti ‘wants Alaves stay’

John Guidetti wants to remain at Alaves beyond the end of the current season after joining the club on loan from Celta Vigo.

The Swedish striker joined the Basque club on a temporary deal until the end of the campaign in January but has scored just one goal in 11 La Liga outings for his new side.

“I would like to continue in Alaves, but we will talk when the league finishes,” Guidetti told reporters, as cited by Estadio Deportivo.

“This is a style of play that suits me more as we play direct football, while with Celta I had to wait longer for the ball to arrive as the play was more patient.

“I am very happy here because everything is at the highest level and I have no concerns about my goal record, because those will come.

“If players like Munir or Sobrino are in better positions to score, I will pass to them because I am not selfish.”
