Betis make it four in a row

Quique Setien praised the ‘great enthusiasm’ of his Real Betis players after they beat Eibar 2-0 on Saturday for their fourth win in a row.

Sergio Leon’s 11th goal of the season and a case of Eibar defender Anaitz Arbilla putting into his own net saw Betis consolidate fifth place in La Liga, moving them three points clear of arch-rivals Sevilla.

“If we stick to the results, it’s obvious that we’re in a good run of form,” the Coach said after the game.

“We started with some problems because Eibar aren’t easy to face, but we’ve found some consistency and we’re happy to be where we are in the table at this stage of the season.

“It’s true that there are times when it’s hard to win and control games, but there’s been an upward trend for quite some time.

“The players are gaining confidence and I think we’re at a time when we’re fresh, clear-headed and we have great enthusiasm.

“The team have picked up four straight wins, but four straight defeats can follow. That’s football. Celebrations are for the end [of the season].

“Inui? He’s not our player, he belongs to Eibar. I’m only thinking about those who are here at the moment.”
