Zidane: La Liga not impossible

Zinedine Zidane insists Real Madrid can still defend their Liga title this season as “it’s complicated but not impossible.”

Madrid’s 1-0 defeat to Espanyol on Tuesday left them 15 points behind Barcelona, but the table-toppers failed to beat Las Palmas 48 hours later and face Atletico this weekend, knowing their lead could be cut to just two points.

“The League will go down to the wire,” the Coach said at a Press conference for Los Blancos’ visit of Getafe on Saturday.

“Nothing is ever a given in football.  We must put it in our heads that every League match is important. It’s complicated, yes, but not impossible.

“Our defeat to Espanyol annoyed me [after Barca drew with Las Palmas]. No Neymar for PSG? It’s not a relief that he’s out.

“I’m sorry for him, but PSG are a very good team. The player who replaces him will be a good one, certainly.

“We don’t think that it’ll be any easier without Neymar. We know that in Paris, we have to be at 2000 percent if we want to go through.

“Admittedly, the players have the game on Tuesday in their heads, but what interests us most is tomorrow’s game.

“Isco annoyed about coming off? He was annoyed because he didn’t want to came off, but that goes for every player. His attitude has always been spectacular.

“Madrid still haven’t won anything this season, so it’s important that we show our form and football.”
