Unzue ‘dreams’ of Celta in Europe

Celta Vigo Coach Juan Carlos Unzue has revealed his ‘dream’ for the season was to return the club to European football.

The Galician club reached the semi-finals of last season’s Europa League but did not qualify for the competition for this campaign and are now aiming for a top seven finish.

“My dream from the start of the season was to guide the team back to Europe,” Unzue is cited as saying by Marca.

“There is a big difference between finishing sixth and seventh and we will fight for the highest possible position and if that can be fifth, that’s even better.

“We must be realistic and take advantage of our skills and qualities, but we know that all the teams fighting for these positions are of a similar footing.

“Girona? Having seen their performances this season and knowing their Coach (Pablo Machin), I would be shocked if they were not comfortable this season.

“Leganes and Getafe have been tremendous this season but for me, Girona are the revelation team.”
