Seedorf: Muntari can help us but…

Deportivo La Coruna Coach Clarence Seedorf insists new signing Sulley Muntari ‘can help this team’ but ‘cannot save us alone’.

Depor will give a debut to the experienced Ghanaian midfielder – formerly of Portsmouth and Milan – in Friday night’s clash with Espanyol.

“Muntari alone cannot save this team, but he can help us,” Seedorf told his pre-match press conference, as cited by Marca.

“He will help us become more dominant during games, to have a greater presence in midfield and of course more competition for places also.

“Me and the players have a lot of optimism, we have seen very positive things and we have high hopes after the first matches, now we are going to improve more in terms of results.

“Against Espanyol we do not plan to make big changes, we are working on systems and players combining but there is nothing drastic to change.

“We need to start winning, obviously it will give us vital points but more importantly it will give us momentum and the fans can then truly get behind us.”
