Kondogbia: I would pay €25m clause!

Valencia midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia would “pay the €25m clause to buy me outright” from his loan deal from Inter.

The Frenchman joined Los Che on a season-long loan deal from Inter and has largely impressed for Los Che with the club keen to activate his option to buy, which is reported at €25m.

“I had spoken to Valencia a year before joining but opted to stay at Inter and then Marcelino arrived,” Kondogbia told Cadena Ser.

“He spoke to me with (vice president) Mateu Alemany and guaranteed there would be consistency. I realised it was the right moment to move.

“The Coach made it clear he trusted me to be a part of his sporting project and that means a lot to a player. I was coming off a difficult season and wanted to find myself again.

“The fans are demanding in Valencia too, but they are warm and supportive with the team. I am very happy here and have everything I need to settle in.

“I’d pay the €25m clause to buy me outright, but that’s obvious!”
