Montella ‘bit disappointed’ with draw

Vincenzo Montella was “a bit disappointed” with Sevilla’s Manchester United stalemate as his side “created enough chances” and “needed to play quicker”.

Sevilla failed to make any of their 21 attempts on David de Gea’s goal count, leaving their Champions League last-16 tie with United wide open ahead of the return leg in a fortnight.

“The team created enough chances to score a goal or two,” the Coach said after the game.

“I’m a bit disappointed, but we have to be happy about how the match went. It’s all open at 0-0 and we’ll see what happens in 15 days. Now we have to focus on Atletico.

“De Gea? He was fabulous, I didn’t see the images on TV, but I think he played very well.

“Our high intensity? We couldn’t play at that pace all game. The team played with intelligence and patience, although sometimes we needed to play quicker.

“We were always focused on the game. Pogba on the bench? United have a great bench, we know all their players.

“Approach for the second leg? Sevilla must always play to score and be superior to their opponents, although this isn’t always possible. Still, we have to try.”
