Alaves sink Seedorf’s Depor

Alaves continued their recent strong run of form as they edged out struggling Deportivo La Coruna 1-0 on Saturday.

Munir El Haddadi – on loan from Barcelona – provided the game’s decisive moment just after the hour mark, to condemn Clarence Seedorf to consecutive starting defeats in the Depor dugout.

John Guidetti struck the post for the Basque side early on but the visitors carried a threat too, with Zakari Bakkali also rattling the woodwork.

The game’s only goal came when 22-year-old Munir found the top corner with a clipped finish to send the home fans into raptures.

It was a third straight league victory for Alaves, who are now 10 points of the relegation zone in 14th, while Depor remain second-from-bottom.
