Atletico Madrid’s Wanda Metropolitano stadium will host this season’s Copa del Rey final between Barcelona and Sevilla on 21 April.

It is the stadium’s first full season after replacing the old Vicente Calderon, which has hosted the last two finals – both of which were won by the Blaugrana.

The Catalan giants refused to entertain the idea of playing the decider in Sevilla’s Andalucia region, ensuring Atleti’s stadium was the only remaining viable option.

The Wanda will also host the 2019 Champions League final, with each club set to take 22,000 tickets for the 67,000-seated stadium.

Three league matches – Atletico v Betis, Sevilla v Real Madrid and Barcelona v Villarreal – have now been rearranged to 9 May to accommodate the final.
