Long-serving Mehdi Lacen exits Getafe

Algerian international midfielder Mehdi Lacen has left Getafe as a free agent after spending seven seasons at the club.

The 33-year-old joined Getafe in 2011 from Racing Santander, where he had spent three seasons after a spell at Alaves.

Lacen made a total of 139 top flight appearances at Estadio Coliseum and played a total of 188 games for the club – of which only four came this campaign – scoring four goals.

The holding midfielder is the second highest non-Spaniard appearance holder at Getafe, behind Argentine Daniel 'Cata' Diaz (237 games).
