Chilean midfielder Felipe Gutierrez has departed Real Betis as a free agent and has been linked with a move to Kansas City.
The 27-year-old joined Los Verdiblancos for a reported €1.5m from Dutch side FC Twente in 2016but started only nine La Liga matches for the club.
The central midfielder spent a year on loan at Brazilian club Internacional, who covered the Chile international’s wages over that period.
The Kansas City Star now report the club are set to make Gutierrez a designated foreign player after his contract in Seville was mutually terminated.
