Newcastle United are looking to Atletico Madrid striker Kevin Gameiro to bolster their attacking options this month, say reports.
Gameiro, 30, has netted 22 goals for Los Rojiblancos since joining from Sevilla in the summer of 2016 and netted the winner at Eibar ten days ago, but he may find opportunities limited following Diego Costa’s arrival.
The French striker arrived at Atleti for a fee of €35m but it is understood the club would accept offers in excess of €20m, with Diario AS citing a report in the Daily Express of interest from the Magpies.
Earlier this month, Wales Online reported Swansea City had launched a double bid for the former Paris Saint-Germain striker and Atleti teammates Nicolas Gaitan.
Another striker, Luciano Vietto, exited Los Rojiblancos earlier this month in a loan move to Valencia.
