Calderon: Madrid want Neymar, to sell Ron

Former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon believes the club will sell Cristiano Ronaldo to fund a move for Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain.

The Brazilian star left Madrid’s El Clasico rivals Barcelona last year but reportedly is not fully happy in Paris and would consider a move to the Bernabeu.

Reports this week suggest the Spanish and European champions could overhaul their attacking options in the near future.

“This (being linked to players) is a clever strategy the club will continue to pursue to divert attention away from the team’s current problems on the pitch,” Calderon told Le Parisien.

“They want to sell dreams to the supporters and focus their attention on this, but yes it is a move I could see as being possible.

“I believe they have deliberately leaked the possible arrival of Neymar and possible departure of Cristiano to the newspapers, and then will gauge the public’s reaction.

“They want to know what the fans will think and then make decisions based on this.”
