Madrid ‘ready’ for Icardi bid – report

Real Madrid are working to be ‘ready’ to submit an offer for Inter striker Mauro Icardi in the summer transfer window, according to reports.

The highly-rated Argentine has a €110m release clause in his contract with the Milanese giants which Marca report is a figure which the Spanish and European champions could meet.

The Madrid daily cites a report in Corriere Dello Sport which states the forward is a key transfer target for Los Blancos.

The report states that officials at Madrid are becoming increasingly concerned with their side’s current campaign and are keen to strengthen their squad in the next two transfer windows.

The Nerazzurri are said to be hopeful of the 24-year-old signing a new deal at the San Siro which would increase his annual wage from €5m to €7m.

Icardi, who has scored 15 goals in Serie A this campaign, stated in November ‘he wouldn’t answer a call from Real Madrid’.
