Villarreal striker Cedric Bakambu has not yet completed his move to Beijing Guoan as the clubs have not yet reached an agreement.
The Congolese striker, who has netted 14 goals this campaign, is set to join the Chinese Super League club in a €40m deal after reports had suggested his release clause had been triggered.
“Right now I’m between the two clubs,” Bakambu said in fresh quotes on Monday.
“Officially I’m still a Villarreal player as I am waiting for the two clubs to reach an agreement.”
Bakambu has netted for 48 goals for the club since joining from Bursaspor in 2015.
